![]() The kick starter, gear shift, foot brake, and exhaust guards were coated semi-gloss black. The exhaust was blasted and ceramic coated matte black. All the original white parts were blasted and coated white. Then I took all of my stuff to the powder coater. There were some dents and spot welds broken on the exhaust guards that I repaired. The rear section of the exhaust was showing signs of rust coming through so I wrapped it in stainless and did away with the access plate to clean carbon out.(since nobody ever uses that anyway) Completely dissassembled it down to the bare frame for powder coating. It had never been titled and I got the original MSO with it. Engine had great compression, started and ran but obviously needed some carb work because of the lack of use for the previous eight years. It didn't appear to have been ridden alot, just the usual minor battle scars from young riders. Based on the amount of postings in this thread, there's just not much love for the Fat Cats.īut for those who are a fan of these, I thought I'd post some pics of my restoration.Īs mentioned in the earlier post, in early January I picked mine up from it's original owner. ![]() These don't seem to have the following that the big wheels do. ![]()
